Yes, that’s correct! If you hit the gym more times per week then you have a greater chance of “burning-out”, “dropping-out” or getting injured. There are several excellent studies tracking new member usage and all indicate a significant decline in attendance with those individuals who attend 5-7 times a week during the first month upon beginning a new exercise program! Start off slow by giving yourself at least three days off each week for “recovery” purposes. Your first goal should be to simply make it past the first month with consistent attendance.
